Why do projects have airdrops?

Why are all looking for projects that have an Airdrop? What are the benefits of using these projects? Is the satisfaction statistics of this high-profile model high?

This question isn’t particularly particular to Constellation and I’m not the biggest fan of question titles like that, but to give you my estimation:
People like airdrops because they think they get free money. I’m a bit skeptical of to what extent this can be considered true, as going through the process probably ends up with a low $/hour of work return.
For projects, airdrops can be attractive because you get public exposure, you make people mentally and monetarily invested in your token, you get some level of distribution spread and it may or may not be easier to handle legally and tax-wise than an ICO.

Hi @hossein78, as @Nikolaj-K pointed out, the general section is for questions specific to the Constellation project. I’ve also edited your title and moved this to the Uncategorized section.
